About Michael Block

Michael Block is a 12 time GLAM Award nominated writer, producer, and host of the podcast Block Talk. Throughout his time in the entertainment industry, he has worked on and off Broadway as a stage manager, written several produced plays, critiqued hundreds of theatrical performances, drag and cabaret shows, and has produced events randing from drag competitoons to variety concerts! 
On Block Talk, he interviews nightlife personalities, covers the wide world of entertainment through features, ranking episodes, and recaps ALL of Drag Race, as well as Dragula and Survivor. He has interviewed hundreds of RuGirls that span the globe at DragCon NYC, DragCon LA, and DragCon UK. 
In his free time, he makes one-of-a-kind jewelry and gift baskets with his mom. He is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. 

Industry Experience

Michael has been a freelance writer since 2011 when he launced his theater website Theater in the Now. Over the years, his worked has evolved from theatrical criticsm to playwriting. Nowadways, his focus is on reality television, predominantly Drag Race and other drag related reality content. 

Favorite Media

Michael is a huge reality tv fan, loves Broadway, and is a Disney kid at heart.
Some of his go to reality showos include Drag Race, Survivor, Big Brother, Dragula, Dancing with the Stars, The Challenge, and American Idol. Just don't ask him to pull out any randomg facts from his head. He's consumed way too much reality tv content! 
When it comes to the world of scripted television, Michael is a huge fan of random British telly including Doctor Who and Broadchurch. Esssentially anything that may have featured David Tennant, Catherine Tate, or Olivia Coleman. Additionally he loves Game of Throns, 80s and 90s sitcoms, Parks and Recreation, Saturday Night Live, and many more. How much more time does he have?
Michael is a die hard Marvel fan. He grew up watching classic comedy moviess by the likes of Mel Brooks and Monty Python. He is a sucker for a good laugh out loud comedy. Put on Eurovision Song Contest: Story of Fire Saga, he is there! His favorite movie of all time is Rat Race. Yes, that movie from 2001 with that all-star cast. "You should have bought a squirrel."
