This show is about people enduring hardship beyond the comprehension of those dwelling safely in civilization, which is why there are so many inevitable deaths in Yellowjackets. Whatever unspeakable terror they experienced out in the wilderness transformed them into something wild, frightening, and dangerous. And not everyone made it out alive.
